Your first night in the Sahara

Tea to begin
When you arrive at Dar Marhaba, we welcome you with tea. You can also choose traditional Berber clothing for your desert experience.

By camel, towards the setting sun
We leave the riad in the afternoon. For around an hour, the camels carry us through the dunes. We stop to watch the sun disappear behind the desert, then continue on to camp.

Your tent in the heart of the desert
Berber tea and cool water await at camp. We show you to your private jaima tent, where you can leave your belongings and rest. Every tent has its own private bathroom and shower.

Dinner, drums, then stars
After a shower, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner. The evening continues around the fire with drums and Berber music. When the music ends, we turn off the lights and head into the dunes to gaze at the Sahara’s starry sky.
A whole day to explore

Waking with the desert
We rise early to enjoy sunrise among the dunes. After breakfast at camp, we prepare the camels for another day of adventure.

An oasis among the dunes
A camel ride of around an hour takes us to an oasis in the heart of the desert. On arrival, we share Berber tea and take time to rest, surrounded by tall golden dunes.

Climb high, then share lunch
We climb one of the large dunes to take in the vast desert. After enjoying the views, we come down to savour a traditional Moroccan lunch.

Sandboarding and the last light of day
In the afternoon, we continue by camel for around an hour, finding a lovely spot for sunset. There is also time for sandboarding on the dunes. After sunset, we head to camp.

Back to camp
Back at camp, Berber tea and cool water welcome you. Return to your private tent, with its bathroom and shower, to freshen up and rest.

A second evening under the stars
We share another traditional Moroccan dinner, then gather around the fire for Berber music and drums. When the lights go out, the dunes invite us to admire the Sahara sky once more.
One last sunrise

Sunrise and the journey back
We rise early to admire dawn among the dunes. After breakfast at camp, we prepare to return to Dar Marhaba. Choose to come back by camel or 4 × 4. The experience ends when you arrive at the riad.

01How many days does this experience cover?
Departure is in the afternoon of the first day. You spend two nights at camp with a full day of exploring in between, then return to the riad on the third morning after breakfast.
02Are the tent and bathroom private?
Yes. Your jaima tent is private and has its own bathroom and shower. You can settle in and shower before dinner.
03Can we return by 4 × 4?
Yes, the return to the riad is included by camel or 4 × 4, whichever you prefer. Let us know your choice in your enquiry.
04Do we need to book a room at the riad to enquire about this tour?
You can enquire about the tour on its own. Dar Marhaba is the departure and return point. If you would also like to stay at the riad, mention it in your message.
